Architectural Landmarks in Barcelona

Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia in Spain, is renowned for its rich architectural heritage. After the demolition of the medieval city walls in the 19th century, the city expanded and many new buildings were constructed in the modernist style. Among its most famous architects are Lluís Domènech I Montaner and Antoni Gaudí.
