Swan & Maclaren Architects

Swan & Maclaren Architects traces its origins to 1887, when Archibald Alexander Swan and Alfred Lermit founded the firm in Singapore under the name Swan & Lermit. The firm was renamed Swan & Maclaren in 1892 and quickly established itself as the leading architectural practice in colonial Singapore. Its influence on the city's architectural landscape is profound, with many of its early designs still standing today. Notable examples include the iconic Raffles Hotel and the Victoria Memorial Hall.
