Santiago Calatrava

Santiago Calatrava was born in 1951 in Valencia, Spain. He studied architecture and civil engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia and later at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich. After receiving his doctorate in 1981, he immediately opened his own office in Zürich. His architectural firm now has offices in New York City, Doha and Zürich. Among his most famous projects are the Milwaukee Art Museum and the World Trade Center Transportation Hub in New York City. Here are three of his projects in Switzerland.
