Renaissance Architecture

Renaissance architecture developed in Italy in the early 15th century and marked a conscious revival of the forms and principles of classical antiquity. In contrast to the verticality and complexity of Gothic architecture, Renaissance design emphasized symmetry, proportion, geometry, and the regularity of parts, drawing inspiration from Roman models.
