The Kraków Cloth Hall (Sukiennice) is an iconic building in the center of Krakow’s Old Town. Its history goes back to the 14th century and it’s even called Europe’s oldest shopping center ! It is 108 meters long and eight meter wide.
After a fire destroyed the earliest Cloth Hall in the 16th century it was rebuilt in Renaissance style. Many of its gargoyles were created by Italian sculptor Santi Gucci. At the end of the 19th century, a major restoration project took place and the upstairs museum space was created.
