Parkview Square, located in Singapore's vibrant Bugis district, is a striking showcase of modern Art Deco architecture. Rising to a height of 124 meters with 24 stories, the building was designed by the local firm DP Architects and built between 1999 and 2002. Inspired by the grandeur of New York's 1920s skyscrapers, its façade is clad in bronze, granite, and glass, showcasing meticulous craftsmanship and ornate hand-crafted details that exude timeless elegance.
Parkview Square is located right next to the DUO twin towers.
Its design took inspiration from New York’s Chanin Building. The open plaza surrounding the building echoes the grandeur of Venice’s Piazza San Marco, with statues of historical figures like Abraham Lincoln, Salvador Dalí, and Mozart. At the plaza's center stands a golden crane statue poised with its head raised and wings extended, symbolizing pre-flight readiness. A Chinese poem inscribed on the pedestal reflects the mythical crane's yearning to return home, embodying the owner's nostalgia. The statue is also believed to bring prosperity to the building.
Art deco design inspirations are also omnipresent inside the building.
Atlas Bar
Within this iconic structure lies the Atlas Bar, celebrated globally for its grandeur and extensive gin collection. Opened on March 25, 2017, Atlas Bar has made it several times into different World's Best Bars lists. Its design complements the building’s opulence, featuring a lavish Art Deco-inspired interior that pairs perfectly with the architectural style of Parkview Square.
The bar boasts a three-story gin tower, housing over 1,000 varieties, making it a destination for cocktail enthusiasts.
