EPFL Polydôme was designed by Julius Natterer and built in 1991 on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the Swiss Confederation. The radius of the wooden geodesic dome is slightly more than 27 meters with a maximal height of 6.8m at the center. Originally planned as an ephemeral building for only one year, it is still used today.
