Josep Puig i Cadafalch

Josep Puig I Cadafalch was a Catalan architect and politician who lived from 1867 until 1956. After having studied architecture in Barcelona, he became Municipal Architect in his hometown of Mataró. He was a member of the Barcelona City Council from 1901 until 1903, a member of the Spanish Parliament between 1907 and 1910 and  second president of the Commonwealth of Catalonia from 1917 until 1924. His buildings were mostly designed in the modernist style.
