The Batochimie building, located on Unil campus right next to the EPFL campus, was designed by Atelier Cube. Completed between 1990 and 1994, the building was designed to house the university's chemistry faculty, thus its name combining "bateau" (boat) and "chimie" (chemistry). Its modern design is characterized by long horizontal lines and a structure reminiscent of a ship, with the large chimneys being used by the laboratories.
