The Fullerton Hotel Singapore is located inside the former General Post Office Building, constructed between 1924 and 1928 to plans by Keys & Dowdeswell in a Neoclassical style. The main building material was grey Aberdeen granite. At its opening the General Post Office occupied the two lower floors, while the upper flors were used by the Marine Department, the Import and Export Department and the Singapore Club. It was converted into the Fullerton Hotel between 1998 and 2000. In 2015, the building was named Singapore's 71st national monument.
