While the origins of the Château de Prilly are probably medieval, its current appearance was created during the 17th century under the Bernese occupation. The château features a distinctive corner tower and an ensemble of irregular building structures. In the late 19th century, the château was repurposed as a hospital, initially under Dr. Henri-Léon Pinard, followed by Dr. Jacquot-Guillarmond. The municipality of Prilly acquired the château in 1946, marking a new chapter in its storied history.
To the east of the historic building, a new municipal administration wing was constructed between 2008 and 2011 by Ferrari Architectes, thus creating a new public square. The contemporary design is elegantly integrated with the château’s heritage, featuring perforated bronze plaques that bear the Commune's coat of arms.
