The Musée national de l'Automobile - Collection Schlumpf in Mulhouse is home to one of the world's largest automobile collections. To its highlights count the many cars constructed before 1910, its collection of Rolls Royce cars as well as the world's largest collection of Bugatti cars.
The museum is housed inside the former Heilman, Koechlin and Kuynel wool mill, built in 1880. It was transformed and extended to plans by French architectural design practice studio Milou in 2006.
Over 400 cars are on display, illuminated by 800 lamp posts identical to those on the Alexander III bridge in Paris !
