Since 2000, Tate Modern is located inside the former Bankside Power Station with its almost 100m high central tower. The building was converted for museum use by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron between 1995 and 2000. The 65m high Switch House extension was also designed by Herzog & de Meuron and opened in 2016. The Tate Modern is now the world's most visited museum of Modern Art.
