Koenig & Bauer is a German printing press manufacturer founded in 1817 in Würzburg. Their presence in Lausanne goes back to a collaboration agreement with Lausanne based printer Gualtiero Giori in the 1950s. After Giori's death in 2001, Koenig & Bauer acquired Giori SA. Today, almost all banknotes worldwide are printed on Koenig & Bauer printing presses !
The Koenig & Bauer corporate headquarter in Lausanne was designed by Dolci Architectes and built between 2006 and 2009. The facades of the 4 level heigh complex are made of textured glass panel creating a strong visual identity.
