The Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg was designed by Herzog & de Meuron and completed in 2016. The 110 meter high building re-uses the base of the former cocoa, tea and tobacco warehouse Kaispeicher A from 1963. A glass facade reminiscent of sails and waves and composed of over 1000 individual glass elements, was added on top.
The building contains a hotel, concert venues and a public plaza.
The public plaza at a height of 37 meters, offers great views over Hamburg !
