The museum on the first floor of the Jost Sigristen House in Ernen was established in 1995. It shows how Jakob Valentin Sigristen lived at the end of the 18th century.
The house itself was built in 1573 par Martin Jost.
Museum Jost-Sigristen
Most of the furnishings date from the late 18th century. Jacob Valentin Sigristen lived from 1733 until 1808 and was the last governor of the old Valais before the French invasion.The ceiling is decorated with grisaille paintings.
