In 2021, the site-specific artwork Life by Icelandic–Danish artist Olafur Eliasson was installed at Fondation Beyeler. The museum's facade was removed so that the existing pond could flow into the galleries !

A wooden walkway allowed visitors to walk inside the museum. The bright green water that takes up most of the space was created through the usage of uranine, a non-toxic dye used to study water currents.
