Hermann Herter

Swiss architect Hermann Herter was born in June 1877 in Oberengstringen. Trained under Gustav Gull, Herter served as the city architect of Zürich from 1919 to 1942. In this role, he was responsible for numerous public buildings, including the Bellevue and Paradeplatz tram shelters and the Wollishofen public bath. Herter also played a significant role in shaping urban planning in Zürich, promoting municipal housing and overseeing architectural competitions. He passed away in January 1945 in Zürich.
