Aires Mateus
Aires Mateus is a Portuguese architectural firm founded in 1988 by the brothers Manuel Rocha and Francisco Xavier Aires Mateus. Manuel Rocha Aires Mateus was born in 1963 in Lisbon and graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Lisbon (FA.UTL) in 1986, while his one year younger brother Francisco Xavier graduated from the same University in 1987. Both have since been teaching abroad, such as at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design. The majority of their projects are in Portugal.
