The Tassenmuseum, also known as the Museum of Bags and Purses, was a unique cultural institution located in the heart of Amsterdam, showcasing the evolution of bag design, materials, and craftsmanship. Founded in 1996 by Hendrikje Ivo, the Tassenmuseum was the world's largest museum of its kind before it permanently closed in 2020 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
The museum was situated along the picturesque Herengracht canal in a stunning 17th-century canal house with beautiful period rooms.
