Vrin is a village with a population of about 250 in the Val Lumnezia in Grisons. The baroque village church, built by Antonio Broggio around 1689, is among the most important sacred buildings in the Vorderrhein Valley. In 1998, the village was awarded the Wakker Prize for the preservation of its architectural heritage and in 2019, the Grisons Heritage Society included it in the list "52 best buildings  - Grisons culture of construction 1950 - 2000".

Stiva da morts
Stiva da morts is a community mortuary building built by Gion A. Caminada in 1996. In multiple ways, it creates a connection between the church and the surrounding homes. Its light color reminds the white color of the church while the timber construction reminds the homes. It also connects the level of the cemetery with the village street just below.

Gion A. Caminada lives in Vrin where he has carried out over a dozen new buildings and conversions: residential buildings, stables, commercial buildings and public buildings from telephone booths to multi-purpose halls. The two large stables on the left were built in 1994 and 1997. To the right the cooperative butcher's shop and slaughterhouse built in 1998/99.
