The Mauritshuis Museum is an art museum renowned for its Dutch Golden Age paintings, located in The Hague. Among its most famous pieces are Vermeer’s "Girl with a Pearl Earring" and Rembrandt’s "The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp".
Architecturally, the Mauritshuis itself is a masterpiece of Dutch classicism. It was built between 1633 and 1644 as a residence for Count Johan Maurits of Nassau-Siegen to plans by Jacob van Campen. The building features an elegant façade, symmetrical design, and opulent interiors, which have been meticulously preserved and restored to reflect their historical significance. Its new entrance was designed by Hans van Hesswijk and completed in 2012.
