The Museum of the Swiss Charters of Confederation (Bundesbriefmuseum) in Schwyz is home to the founding document of the Swiss Confederation, the Federal Charter of 1291. Visitors can explore a curated collection of medieval documents and flags that narrate the evolution of the Old Swiss Confederacy.
The building was designed by Swiss architect Josef Beeler and inaugurated in 1936. Its façade is adorned with the mural "Fundamentum" by Heinrich Danioth.
