Atelier Bardill in Scharans, completed in 2007, was designed by Valerio Olgiati for Swiss singer and author Linard Bardill. It replaces an old barn which exterior dimensions it had to follow exactly in order to obtain the building permit. In order to comply with this requirement while respecting the budget, it was decided to give the house a larger inner courtyard. At first glance, it is a red-colored concrete house without windows or roof. In 2009, it was awarded the Swiss Concrete Architecture Prize.
The atelier contains a working space and an atrium with a round, 14m wide, opening to the sky.
The walls are decorated with 150 rosettes of different sizes.
