The late baroque chapel in Saas-Balen was built between 1809 and 1812 by Johann Josef Andenmatten after a rockslide badly damaged the previous chapel in 1796.

It consists of two cylinders of different sizes, merging into one another. It is classified as a cultural property of national significance.
