Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre, located in Reykjavík, Iceland, was designed by the Danish firm Henning Larsen Architects in collaboration with Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson. The opening concert in the first purpose-built concert hall in Reykjavík was held on May 4, 2011. Harpa Concert Hall hosts a wide range of concerts, events, and conferences.
The building's distinctive façade, composed of geometric glass panels, mirrors the dynamic beauty of the Icelandic landscape and the play of light and color. 714 LED lights are incorporated in the facade and display a video work designed by Olafur Eliasson.
In 2013, Harpa Concert Hall was awarded the Mies van der Rohe award for contemporary architecture.
