Montreux's highest apartment tower was built between 1964 and 1968 to plans by Hugo Buscaglia. In his eyes, the tower was the only way to guarantee sufficient sunlight and green spaces in the context of the scarcity of building land in Montreux. To support the tower, 47 reinforced concrete pillars were poured 8 meters deep on top of which a more than 3 meter thick platform was installed. The 29 floor and 80 meters high tower stands on top of this platform.
