Palace of Westminster was rebuilt between 1840 and 1876 to plans by Charles Barry in a Gothic Revival style. It is home to the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

The Palace of Westminster has three towers. The Elizabeth Tower is 96 meters high and located at the north end of the complex. It is generally referred to as Big Ben. The south-western corner of the building is marked by the almost 99 meter high Victoria Tower.
