Okochi Sanso, the former home and garden of Japanese film actor Denjiro Okochi, is a hidden gem nestled in the Arashiyama district of Kyoto. The main structures were built in the 1930s and 1940s and were opened to the public after Okochi's death in 1962. The garden is renowned for its seasonal beauty, featuring vibrant cherry blossoms in spring, lush greenery in summer, fiery maple leaves in autumn, and tranquil snowscapes in winter.
At the heart of Okochi Sanso is the Daijokaku Villa, a traditional wooden structure that offers panoramic vistas of Kyoto and the surrounding mountains.
