The Burj Al Arab in Dubai is renowned for its iconic sail-shaped design and ultra-luxurious interiors, crafted to embody opulence. Architect Tom Wright designed the 321 meter high structure to resemble a ship’s sail, creating a striking presence on an artificial island, 280 meters off Dubai's coastline. Burj Al Arab was inaugurated in 1999.
The atrium, one of the tallest in the world with a height of 180 meters, leads up to the hotel’s private suites.
Chinese interior designer Khuan Chew employed rich materials, including 24-carat gold leaf, Italian marble, and vibrant colors, evoking Arabian luxury with a contemporary twist.
Visitors can explore the Burj Al Arab through the Inside Burj Al Arab Tour, where highlights include the Royal Suite, kept as when it opened in 1999 and curated exhibits on the hotel’s history. During the tour, photography is permitted with mobile phones only.
