The Magritte Museum, located in Brussels' Royal Quarter, is dedicated to the Belgian surrealist artist René Magritte. Inaugurated on 20 May 2009 and opened to the public on 2 June 2009, the museum houses around 200 original paintings, drawings, and sculptures. It features the largest multidisciplinary archive of Magritte’s work anywhere in the world.
The museum is located in the Hôtel du Lotto (also known as the Hôtel Altenloh), an 18th-century neoclassical townhouse on the Place Royale, directly across from the Musical Instruments Museum (MIM).
