The Ritz-Carlton Berlin was designed by Heinz Hilmer und Christoph Sattler as part of the Beisheim Center near Potsdamer Platz. The 19 stories and 70m high complex was built between 2002 and 2004. Its style is an homage to the Art Deco movement of the 1920s.

The reception area with a beautiful sweeping marble staircase extends over two floors. Its sparkling crystal chandeliers seem to remind Film Festival flashes.
