The Kurtheater Baden was established in 1881 and hosts a wide range of theatrical productions and cultural events.
Swiss architect Lisbeth Sachs won the architectural competition for the new Kurtheater building in Baden in 1939. However, due to the war, its construction was delayed, and it was only inaugurated in March 1952. With a seating capacity of 560, it is the largest theater in the canton of Aargau. In 1965, the theater was expanded by architects Bölsterli and Weidmann.

The ten-sided foyer, featuring a glass facade, was a central design element in Lisbeth Sachs' plans. Oriented outward, it provides guests with a view of the park before they enter the concert hall.
