Gustave Henri de Beaumont was a Swiss painter born in November 1852 in Geneva. After studying in German speaking Switzerland where he befriended Ferdinand Hodler, he continued his artistic training at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris under Jean-Léon Gérôme. Beaumont returned to Switzerland and contributed to important works like the Panorama Bourbaki. He also taught at the Geneva École des Beaux-Arts. Financial difficulties caused by World War I marked his later life, and he passed away in 1922 in Geneva.
