Giovanni Bellini

Giovanni Bellini was an Italian Renaissance painter. Born in 1430 in Venice, Bellini played a pivotal role in transitioning Italian art from the Gothic style to the more naturalistic Renaissance aesthetic. Known for his religious compositions, portraits, and landscapes, he infused his works with a sense of depth and atmosphere that influenced generations of artists. Among his most well known paintings are Madonna and Child and The Agony in the Garden. He passed away in 1516.
