Gottfried Semper

Gottfried Semper was a German architect who lived from 1803 until 1879. After taking part in the unsuccessful May uprising in Dresden in 1849, he fled to Zürich and later London, before returning to Germany after 1862. His most famous work is the Semper Open in Dresden, built between 1838 and 1841.
